Updated whenever you load the page. The rock is checked in person.
Doppler radar, centred on the rock. The rock is the green dot. There is nothing else on the radar. There never has been.
Sunday's forecast is less certain because Kevin is home on Sundays. See the log, 2002.

Every observation the rock has made has been correct at the time it was made. The rock has never once been wrong about now. Accuracy is calculated retroactively, which is the only fair way to calculate it.
A man called Mort, who runs a countdown on this website, checks the rock before announcing a date. He says if the rock is ever gone, he'll take it seriously. I told him it was gone in 2002. He said that one doesn't count, because of Kevin. He's right.
| Date | Reading | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| 1994-06-02 | dry | Rock installed on the string. Fair. A good first day for everybody. |
| 1996-11-30 | white | Snow. Also rock cold. I touched it to be thorough. |
| 1999-12-31 | dry, swinging slightly | Fair, light breeze. People said the computers would stop. The rock did not have a computer. It was fine. |
| 2002-08-14 | gone | TORNADO WARNING issued to the household. Took cover in the basement with the dog for forty minutes. |
| 2002-08-15 | present, dry | Rock returned by Kevin next door, who "was only borrowing it." Warning lifted. String replaced (No. 2). |
| 2011-03-11 | swinging | Wind. Also cat. It was the cat. |
| 2017-07-19 | warm | Sunny. Hottest reading on record. Rock could not be held. |
| 2026-09-30 | casting no shadow | Overcast. A visitor investigating the clouds asked whether the rock had ever seen anything suspicious. It has not. They said they don't trust a source that's never been wrong. Fair enough. They came back a week later to say the sky was fine. |
| 2026-10-05 | hard to see | Fog. The person who keeps the night journal says fog nights are good for watching. I went out with a torch. The rock was there. |
| 2026-10-12 | wet | Rain. Rock is wet. A good reading. I sat with it a while. |
